Swedish massage has come a long way from its humble beginnings with Hendrick Ling. Since its development in the 1800s, it has evolved into a popular and therapeutic technique for relieving stress and tension. Its signature use of various hand movements, applied in a rhythmic pattern, helps create an even distribution of pressure that promotes relaxation. The primary objectives are to achieve a state of peace and to bring about physical benefits like improved circulation and joint flexibility. Our relaxation program is designed as part of a more extensive treatment program which includes manual therapy.

From the corridors of a chiropractic office to the intricate world of neuromuscular therapy, my journey as a massage therapist began in 2011. Initially stepping into health and wellness as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) in my father’s chiropractic practice, I was captivated by the complexities of functional kinesiology and movement patterns. As my curiosity deepened, so did my exploration into posture rehabilitation. The intricate relationship between muscles, fascia, and skeletal alignment intrigued me, leading me down the path of myofascial therapy. In pursuing understanding and relieving aches and pains, I delved into the nuances of neuromuscular therapy, with trigger point therapy emerging as my specialization.

In 2019, I reached a significant milestone in my career by graduating from a rigorous 1350-hour advanced neuromuscular massage therapy program with a particular focus on trigger point therapy. Armed with a deeper understanding of the body’s intricate mechanisms, I embarked on a mission to provide relief and healing to individuals from all walks of life. Trigger point therapy became my beacon, guiding me through the intricacies of muscular tension and pain. With a keen eye and skilled hands, I hone in on the elusive trigger points that cause discomfort and restriction, unraveling their grip on my clients’ bodies with precision and care.

Every client, every session, presents a unique puzzle to solve—a challenge I embrace with enthusiasm and dedication. My passion for bodywork is pinpointing trigger points and releasing the tension that has held my clients captive, restoring freedom of movement and alleviating their discomfort.

From athletes seeking peak performance to office workers battling chronic pain, I approach each session with a blend of empathy, expertise, and problem-solving skills centered around trigger point therapy. Guided by the belief that the body has an innate capacity for healing, I strive to facilitate that process through skilled touch and compassionate care. In the dynamic world of neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy remains my cornerstone, a powerful tool in my arsenal as I unravel the mysteries of muscular tension and restore balance and harmony to my clients’ bodies. Each day, my commitment to this noble profession grows more potent, fueled by a deep-seated passion for bodywork and the art of healing through touch.

Croft Castrell’s journey to becoming a renowned neuromuscular therapist was a fascinating one that began with his passion for bodybuilding. In February 2015, he took a significant step and opened “Castrell Neuromuscular Therapy,” aiming to merge his extensive experience in sports massage with the principles and techniques of orthopedic manual soft tissue therapy.

Croft firmly believed that successful therapy should treat individuals as whole human beings, addressing the root causes of their issues rather than focusing solely on specific body parts. His unique approach set the foundation for his practice.

Croft’s educational background played a vital role in shaping his career. He graduated from the National Holistic Institute as a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist and Health Educator in December 2014. This educational foundation provided him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in outpatient manual therapy and sports rehabilitation.

His dedication and expertise led to numerous professional achievements, particularly as a sports massage therapist at various Bay Area events. Croft’s participation in events such as marathons, triathlons, and wrestling matches allowed him to apply his therapeutic techniques to a diverse range of athletes, gaining valuable experience and recognition in the field.

Croft’s commitment to excellence earned him several therapist awards and certifications, further establishing his reputation in the industry. Notably, he achieved BCTMB (Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) and CAMTC (California Massage Therapy Council) certifications. He was also an active American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) member.

One of the standout qualifications on Croft’s impressive list was his certification as a Sacroiliac Joint Specialist, following the Hesch Method of Manual Therapy in 2021. This specialization showcased his dedication to continually expanding his expertise to serve his clients better.

Remarkably, Croft’s journey into neuromuscular therapy was a transformation that went beyond the realm of bodybuilding. He held a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Acadia University, showing his diverse educational background.

Not to be overlooked, Croft’s past accomplishments in bodybuilding, including being crowned “Mr. Bermuda” in 1990 and 1991, added a unique dimension to his story. His personal experience in bodybuilding allowed him to relate to athletes and clients on a deeper level, understanding the physical demands and challenges they faced.

Croft Castrell’s conversion from a bodybuilder to a highly respected neuromuscular therapist was a testament to his dedication, continuous learning, and unwavering belief in treating individuals holistically. His practice became a haven for those seeking relief from muscular and skeletal issues, and his journey inspires aspiring therapists and athletes alike.
